If they are that unprofessional I would ring them and ask for the managers name and their NAEA registration number, then write and say due to their conduct you have no faith in them and would like to be released early from your contract.

At very least this should be a major kick up the backside and they will get your property details corrected and market it correctly, or they will release you early and you can go to another agent without any comeback.

    Good Luck!

Financial advisors should stick to advising about finance (even though many are not good at it), not make crass statements about a house's construction based on the year it was built. And if an EA turns to a FA for advice on a building!!!!!!
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

The financial (I'm guessing mortgage) adviser may have given the info if he had tried to get a mortgage on a property in the same area and had problems. The EA should have advised the OP to find out what the property was constructed of at the time of valuation or further to the suggestion made by the mortgage adviser.

It just sounds like the company is quite slack on this, however there is no need to jump up and down and take the property off the market! Let the potential buyers go ahead and have a survey done. The OP now has the info required if there are any further issues with the survey (I've had a very similar case where the surveyor decided it was constructed of some wierd concrete and it took a few months to sort out)

I take it the EA had not put any details in their particulars concerning the construction? If not, then there's not a problem.
