I have appealed mine on the basis of a flawless payment history, including my old Egg account, the fact that in the past year I have closed accounts and reduced credit limit from £22000 to £9000 and the fact I want the Egg money card as a cashback card to replace my Morgan Stanley card. Lets hope I also get a similar result!
Hope you get the card, they seem reasonable from what I can see,I found them very helpful.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0 -
What else did the guy from Egg ask you on the phone?0

He asked about who I banked with how long etc, and other cards I had, he stated that they had checked both the big CRA's, and about my default, he wanted to know how it came about, I told him it was due to financial difficulties after a bitter divorce.
He then asked about payment history and he could see from his records that I had an excellent payment record for the last 6 years or so, no missed/late payments.
He even suggested that I contact the company that placed the default on my file to ask them to remove it as soon as the 6 years was up rather than wait for the CRA's to get round to deleting it, which could take another 6 months or so.
As I have said I found them very helpful.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0 -
Thats great that you got to speak to someone as it means you could explain to a human rather than a computer making a decision without any emotion or understanding of a situation. I hope they call me back too rather than just make a decision based on what I have written in my appeal email, but I'm not interested in the card if they are going to do another credit search (unless they are going to delete the first one).0

A small update to my latest card Monument.
I got another welcome letter informing me that my initial credit limit was £3500.
It also said I had been pre-approved for a credit limit of £7000 (2.5% uncapped fee) if I was to transfer a balance from another card to my new account.
I took this up straight away as it works out cheaper than my other cards.
This stays at 0% until Jan 2007. :j0 -
