Replacing Fiat Punto Engine

It doesn't sound that high to me. There is alot of work involved, so for a lay out of £675, you've not come out of it badly. Lets hope that the engine you have sourced is ok. Make sure it is a quote that the mechanic has given you and not an estimate....

£550 seems a bit high but it can depend where you are
also you may want to consider the cost of a clutch if they are swapping gearboxes

In Edinburgh.About the clutch, are you recommending to change the clutch along with the engine chanage?

just if the gearbox is getting split anyway then its worth considering changing it if its showing wear.

I actually think that sounds a reasonable price considering the amount of work involved in swaping an engine.

Does the replacement engine have any sort of warrenty? where are you getting it from?

Yes there are coming with 90 days warranty. I'm getting it from an autosalvage company in Essex
