If you are really interested it is a Toledo 90.
Toledo's are one of the better Rangemaster ranges, the only thing that tends to go wrong with them are the cook and clean oven linings, they can sometimes lose their cleaning properties, but can be easily replaced.
How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking? If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I cant give you an exact price as it was included with the kitchen. The total price of the kitchen was very good. So do you want to stop by for tea in 5 years then0 -

You can certainly tell you got it from an independent, we like to keep our cards close to our chests and make sure we don't reveal any prices for anything. He didn't use the "my computer software doesn't give me a breakdown of the prices, just the overall value" did he? I know quite a few companies that use that one and one of the companies I used to work for used the same line every time.
But at the end of the day, as long as you are happy with the kitchen and the price of it, that's all that matters. At least going through a true independent you are less likely to get ripped off, than you are at one of the sheds.
Hmmm tea in five years?? Can we not make it tonight? I'm starvingIf it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I have had a Rangemaster toledo for several years now, and couldnt be more happy with it. No problems and only cost around £800- 900.
Got it from company online

Company has some good some bad reviews, but its local to me and I had no problems.0 -
hi all
any one got any recommendations for a 100cm range cooker (probably dual fuel).
I want one that will last at least 10 years, and that cooks food evenly.
I am not a professional cook but have a family and have friends round for meals quite a bit.
A slow cooker function would be good as i do a lot of stews, currys etc....
any advice appreciated

I aked a similar question on the ukwhitegoods forum and Falcon was considered to be the next step up after the Rangemaster's.
I'm sorry that i cannot post a link to the thread, as i'm a new user.0 -
Who are all these idiots saying that a rangemaster would only last 5 years.
I inherited one (110 Classic) 7 years ago and it was certainly second hand then and I am a serious cook (Ex-chef) the cooker has been used and abused every day since I had it and it's still going strong.
I love it!
I'm about to get a new kitchen so will definitely be buying another Rangemaster to go in it. I'll sell the old one on e-bay, but whoever gets it will be getting a great cooker.
I can't recommend it highly enough.0 -

Of course they could last longer and on the same hand, they could die within a couple of years.
Actually, I just re-read what you wrote. So your Rangemaster is about 10 years old? That doesn't surprise me. They USED to be very good appliances, they just aren't any more...
Oh and welcome to MSE icw. Just a quick tip for you, you being a newbie and all. Coming on here and calling other posters idiots, is not the way to go. You don't have to agree what they say and obviously, not everyone knows what they are talking about, but insulting them isn't the right way to make a point.
Oh and I've dealt with Rangemaster for over 10 years. In the last training day I went to (about 3 years ago) they did state that the expected life span of one of their products is 5 years. Obviously, they have to make money somehow and creating a range cooker, that'll last forever and only costs £1k isn't exactly a great business model. Like most other companies, they set a shorter life span to increase revenue...
So if you think I am an idiot, by all means shoot me down with some factual statements from the last training day YOU had from Rangemaster...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

We have a Britannia, don't know how much it cost as it was in the house when we moved in. In all honesty it is not the tyre of thing Ii would choose, I have always had a hob and double oven tower type.
But, I have given it a go and I quite like it. It is dual fuel, cooks evenly. I have not used all the features on it, rotisserie etc. Never seem to have the time to work all that out. I am impressed with the sturdy design of it though.0 -
Hi, newbie here and I'm very interested in this thread. We are thinking of doing major surgery on our kitchen in the next 12 months and one of our priorities was a rangemaster!! We live in a victorian semi and so wanted traditional style that would fit in our chimney breast, we thought the Rangemaster Elan looked perfect, how do these fare?
Thanks.0
