Hi Malc,
Thank you once again for your detailed reply. It is very helpful and has eliminated the doubts i had about switching tariffs.
Before posting on here and receiving your help i would probably have considered switching supplier but your helpfulness means i am going to stay with EON; you are a credit to them!:T
Kind regards,
Tracey

i'm currently with utility warehouse and live in the south east.
comparison sites suggest i could save just over £100 a year switching to e-on v14, yet when i compare the unit rates they are pretty much exactly the same (okay, the leccy is almost 1p a kwh cheaper, for gas it is 0.1p cheaper), and the standing charge e-on charge is more expensive. so i can't quite see where the saving would be ??
i know i am charged a membership fee, but this is approximately how much more the standing charge would be over a year. the e-on standing charge being slightly more expensive than the uw standing charge plus the membership fee.s
i currently pay approx £60 a month for gas, and £40 for electricity.
The unit rates for E-on always do seem a bit high but they do give quite a big discount (I think it ranges from about 12% to 17% depending on where you live) which makes comparing unit rates alone a bit misleading.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Hi wheresmydoshat
Plushchris is right about the added discounts on our Energy Online Extra Saver (version 14) tariff.
It does vary by region. If you are in the South East (Seeboard) region the discount will be 14.5 per cent before VAT.
The 13 digit Meter Point Administration Numbers (MPANs) for this region begin with 19.
MPANs will be on your bills. To confirm your region just check this. If it is different to 19 post the first two digits of the MPAN on the forum and I will be happy to let you know the relevant discount.
Also worth noting, this tariff comes both with and without a Standing Charge.
Once you have all the info pop your details on to a comparison website to see how we stack up.
Hope this helps.

ah, if the discount is applied afterwards then that could make all the difference.
i did look at the one without a standing charge, but tbh i see the initial premium unit price more confusing, and basically a standing charge !
give me a flat unit rate any day, albeit one that is cheap !:grouphug:
no wonder he has a smile on his face...0 -

Not sure which comparison site you are using wheresmydoshat but the quoted savings usually includes the discount.
Unit prices will then be shown without the discount.
There may be a details box to choose which will show the discount separately.
If you are unsure might be an idea to have another look. If you still can't find the discounts let me know the comparison site you are using and I will be happy to have a look for you.
Hope this helps.
