It's a fake. You haven't been paid. Don't send the item!
Regulars will be along with further info soon, I'm sure. But yes, fake!0 -
Always check your paypal account directly for payment (dont follow links)0
-
just checked it and there isnt anything thereabout it, how can i let ebay know? ebay took nearly £60 in final value credit will i get that back?0

One of the oldest scams around. ignore the email, if you want to report it forward it to spoof@paypal.com.
If the transaction is not showing in your paypal account never send goods out.
Paypal do hold funds until goods are shipped and feedback is left or 21 day's passes but only in certain circumstances and even then the money will show in your account so if you can't see it in your account you haven't been paid.0 -
What you need to do now is let ebay know there are scammers around, use live help as you may get more sense from them. If you get someone that understands they may allow you to start the full NPB immediately due to fraud, at worse you'll have to wait until a full 7 days has elapsed and start the NPB then. Once that NPB is completed you get your FVFs recredited.
Next thing to do is rewrite your auctions. Set your seller preferences tighter to exclude unwanted bidders and my own personal view would be to limit these electrical sales to UK only. You could also put a note on the new auction that you do not ship abroad and are familiar with the 419 scam.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Have they pulled the auctions completely as your history doesn't show any such sales even on an advanced search?
Also, and if I don't say it someone else will, I can't see that you are correctly registered as a business seller?
Hmm, even curiouser the 'seller' id hadn't sold anything since 2008 and suddenly just started selling high end electrical goods, all stock photos and no feedback left at all for any recent sales. 7-10 dispatch time (just enough time for funds to be pulled to a bank account).
If the seller ID is correct and this had been th ebuyer asking a question instead of the seller then I would assume the seller to be a scammer..but then i may have missed something of course.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Here's the ebay Q&A tried and tested anti-scammer routine:

Sometimes Soolin you can be a little harsh and over critical without just cause.
the guy has an established account, has sold occasional items over a year or so and received good feedback.
Perhaps he isn't registered as a business seller because he's not a business, i mean, 21 feedbacks in just over 1 year, only 11 of them sales, doesn't sound like much of a business to me.0 -
Selling multiple BINs of high end electrical items is a business. You can't really pretend otherwise.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. selling two laptops hardly constitutes being a business, i have two spare old ones i could sell tomorrow, even if he is a business it must be early day's and he doesn't have to register immediately, he might not sell anything else, doesn't make him a scammer either.
I see where you are coming from with the sudden high end sales but i don't think that is enough evidence to publicly brand or imply someone is a scammer0
