Cancelling O2 contract early
I'm in my first month of my O2 contract. Recently O2 have changed some of the contract terms. One of them being that if O2 increase the charges of any additional services this no longer gives me the right to cancel the contract.
According to the contract I can cancel my contract within 30 days of a contract change if it is to my significant disadvantage. My question is, would I be able to cancel because of this new contract change and keep the phone? Also, if I cancel can I get a PAC for my number?

I would say that the change they are making to the contract disadvantages you a great deal (or has the potential to).
I would suggest that you can cancel and keep the phone. It happened to lots of Three customers a while back because they doubled their call charges and loads of people got out of it that way!

I guess it couldn't hurt to write a letter to O2 saying I want to cancel. If they don't play ball, no harm done. I'm just concerned about my number disapearing with my contract, will O2 give me a PAC?0 -
Additional products and services re not mandatory and O2 have the right to raise the charges for their services. However you are entitled to give them 30 days notice if they raise their charges for calls or line rental. This must be done withn 30 days of their notification.
Hope this helps
