Not sure whats up with this thing but its periously close to being slung out the nearest window!!
Its just over a year old and its switching itself off whenever it feel like it. I get 2 boxes on the screen saying something along the lines of 'no digital input' and 'power down'. Ive tried running virus scans and spyware scans but it very rarely gets to the end before it yet again switches off. (I will be lucky if i can get this posted in time)
Ive got McAfree firewall, AVG anti virus, Ad-Aware and Spybot. Running scans with either of the last three (not at the same time tho) just dont get to the end and dont seem to flush anything out.
Im sure its riddled with spy stuff as my home page keeps changing to some best security site no matter how many times i change it, yet running the scans doesnt fix it. Its only been in the last week or so the home page has changed.
I phoned some people out of the local paper who fix pc's, but im wary of having strange men come to my house to look at my pc. Not that i have anything to hide tho just scared they make it worse!!!
Out of me and DH im the more pc useful one, hes no use at all so its down to me to fix it and i think its gone beyond me now.
Any wonderful advice from you lovely clever people?????

'no digital input' and 'power down' - are these TFT monitor messages, or generated from the PC?
Have you checked all the leads, has it been moved recently, if so make sure that all the cards are firmly pushed in.
Could be the power supply (£15 ish) or the video card. (a bit more).

be careful which malware scanners you use, some are malware themselves. Stick to well know scanners.

Well the pc on button light goes off and then the message comes up so guess it must be TFT monitor messages.

Have you tried system restore? The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Also do you run the spyware scans with the internet switched off? i had a similar thing happen to me and managed to fix it by resetting the computer as soon as the scan had finished and then ran a 2nd scan immediately afterwards to check that everything had gone. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

memtest86 might also be worth a shot if your viral/malware scans don't reveal anything
Also is your PC overheating?0
