Hi, my 12 months contract with vodaphone is up thismonth and I have just spoken to cs. I want a Blackberry curve 8900 and have been offered 600 minutes with unlimited texts for £30 a month for a 24 month contract. I said I'd think about it and they are ringing me back tomorrow. Is this a good deal or should I ask for more? Any tips greatfuly received!

Its not great but not a bad deal either, I would try to get it on a 12 or 18 months contract

Its not a good deal to be honest.

Orange stores are doing the 8900, on Dolphin 30, 600 mins, unlimited texts, and free Blackberry Internet Services worth £120, also a £50 buyback on your old phone, on a 24 month plan, so much better ;)

I'd ask for more. I have the same phone on orange for £30 a month, I get 900 mins, unlim texts, 500Mb internet allowance on a 24 month contract.

As a new in store connection, thats what you'll get, 500mb comes inclusive on all £30 plus plans now, but as a retentions deal, you'd get more mins.

Blackberry Bold 9000 so you get a 3G phone with faster internet

    500 x-net mins
    unlimited text
    free blackberry internet

£30 p/m on an 18 month deal with free phone

I would be cautious about the Curve - huge issues with keyboard build quality especially being 'wobbly'.
Bold is better built and has faster internet but is slightly bulkier and the camera isn't great.

Thanks for your replies. Looked at some deals on the internet last night, so when I spoke to cs again i had some bargaining power - managed to get it for £24.46 a month with 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet, on a 24month contract.

Where is this reported? I've had the Curve since the day of the UK release and had 0 problems with it O_o.

    That's great news jsg123.

I'm really pleased to see that our sales guys were able to match the deal you were looking for and that you're staying with us.

All the best and I hope you enjoy the Curve.

If you do a search of something like '8900 wobbly keyboard' it affected loads of them.
T-Mobile tried to fob me off with "it's a design feature" before they ended up replacing with the Bold.
I don't think all Curves are affected, just certain batches.
