How to Mod your Motorola V3 for Video recording

How to get video and 2 character searching of address book and over 7mb free memory space on your Motorola V3

OK, I did this today and its excellent, it took me a while to work all this out as there are no really easy beginners step by step guides about so here are the step I took:



Be warned, all my links below are direct to EXE, ZIP or RAR files and clicking will start an immediate download.

You need a copy of a free program called RDS lite Google "RSD_Lite_2.5_Release.zip" or if its still there get it here:

After installing RSD, when you plug in you phone you will be asked for some drivers, those are in the zip file for this free app, p2kman which is also useful program for your moto.

now your ready to go and its really easy.


Start RDS plug in your phone with data cable that came with it and make sure your battery is fully charged.
Download your first flash file unpack it and use it.
simply point RDS at the file and press start, don't interrupt the flash, it will take a few minutes to complete so be patient.

Now a warning, you language will be in Spanish, change it to English, here is how if you don't read Spanish:
Menu > Settings(bottom right) > Initial Setup(press down 5 times) > Language(press down 5 times) > English

If you like you operator logo in the centre here is how to put it back.
Menu > Settings > Personalize > Home Screen > Layout: Centered


If you want to flash it with just one file you can use this one but you loose your operator logo so its best to use both as above:

Yes your right, what you are doing here is updating the fimware on the phone to the latest available (ie what you have on your phone).

You are infact updating older V3's to the same level as newer V3's that already have these features.
