Miele Oven - Help Please?

Thank you everyone for your interest and helpful advice - thought you might like the latest info.

The local Miele shop sent their electrician who, with DH's help, got the door open and then opened the top of the oven where the electronics are. He advised that the display board had 'gone' and would cost £206 + to repair BUT that may not make it better and the main board would cost £388 + to replace. I could get a new oven for that! I looked at new ones but they wont match my kitchen so I was a bit fed up then I thought ....... it was an electrical surge/problem that caused it so, why not try our insurers. They were quite helpful at the first phonecall but it's gone down hill since then.........

And that's where we are up to, waiting endlessly, for half day appointment times for people to come and inspect on behalf of our insurer. I just hope after all this.... that I can have this one repaired & am glad I don't have a big family to feed each evening.

Oh sounds bad.I thought the guy would know a little trick and sort it out .
