You can use family railcards at any time except for peaktime journeys wholly within the London and South east area, or South West trains to Waterloo.
Warwick isn't in the restricted area.
You're right of course.
I was confused by the map linked from the railcard site purportedly showing London and the South east and extending out to Brum.
A bit of digging shows they linked to the wrong map...
