sunnygirl - I sterilise jam jars in the microwave. I fill them half full of water, and do four at a time, for as many minutes as it takes for the water to boil. I then take them out (extremely carefully!) drain and stand upside down on a tray covered with kitchen towel until I want to fill them.

:hello:to all my flylady friends - I'm off to bed as I can't keep my eyes open! Day off work tomorrow I think (no phone calls, and unlikely this late in the term), so will finish the ground floor and do the main bedroom, and go to the allotment as well I hope.

Not much done today as been working ALL day and just got in from my evening Youth Work session. In a narkey mood so excuse me whilst I share.

For the 3rd year in a row not one member of my family has so much as sent an email to wish me a Happy Birthday. I wouldn't mind so much but I know quite well that my Stepmum is one of those people who knows everyone's birthday's and she makes a big show of buying presents for 'her' side of the family. I don't want a present but a phonecall or card would be nice.

So I spent my day at work, my DS refuses to admit I have birthdays lol but I can let him off as he's autistic.

Now I'm going to spend 30 minutes knocking a few things off my Tuesday list. DS is in my bed as living in fear of the still on the loose mouse. I'm living in fear of finding the dead evidence tomorrow morning..... don't like em dead or alive!!

Happy Birthday gsyezz, was it today??

Well I still haven't finished the bathroom but have swished and swiped the kitchen and livingroom, think I am getting a bit OCD with my determination to keep it clean, ha! The bedroom is a riot but will get to that another nite, I am so sleepy!

Hope the shivers have been sent packing Toots, and thanks for the advice as usual. Nite all xx

Sorry, not read the last two pages as DH is waiting for the laptop and I've been on here too long trying to catch up!

The NHS were recently saying people should line up up to five flu friends that can run errands for the invalid etc. Is there someone who could go in and get the stuff signed for you?
I'd actually thought about that already, what we would do if we got it and couldn't go out. I would get people to leave food/tissues outside the front door and then we could open the door and they wouldn't get our germs and we could talk to them on the phone

Wow Boddy, well done on your step count

Thanks for all the comments on Snowdonia - I’m so excited about this Snowdonia trip – apparently the lodges we are staying in are right on the beach! Sorry to rub it in but the best holiday we’ve had this year has been staying at my mum’s house which is 30 miles away! So I’m a bit thrilled!

Wow Valli, great news about the job!

Hugs Holly, hope you feel better soon and that all the people at school are better soon too. Apparently not everyone gets the fever, perhaps you are strong enough to get a mild dose of the swine flu

Well done Chicki on the weight loss! That’s great!

    Hugs Triker

Toots, glad you have posted, I was worried – had noticed you haven’t given me my star yet and wondered if you were ok – this is by no means a nag about my star, more that I thought you must be out for the day/poorly as you hadn’t given it to me

I’ve done 5, 000 steps today but my pedometer had slipped round to the side when I was out in the village – I reckon I must have done at least 1, 000 steps more than that, so am going to count it. My legs feel like they’ve done tons of walking today and I’m absolutely shattered so I’ve decided to stop walking for the day.

I did give in and accept a Mars bar from my FIL – he tried to give me 4, but I only took one and then ate it as soon as I got home! First bit of “real” chocolate I’ve had since the beginning of June and it was very nice thank you!

gsysezz....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! As Soappie says, we'll make a fuss. I know its not quite the same as your own family though. x

Thanks for the microwave tip Serena...might do that next time.

    Hollyh...hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

Have a good day out tomorrow Penny.

Anyway, I am back from the kitchen and I now have 4 jars of ruby red raspberry jam cooling down in my kitchen. Looks like it's toast and jam for breakfast then!

Hope you have a good nights rest Toots...take care sweetie.

I am quite tired now so I'll head off to bed before it gets late as I'm working the next two nights so I'll be late to bed.

    Night night everyone.
