Hope this si the right place!
Anyway whilst cooking dinner our electric went off after fiddling around notice it was our oven hob tripping it off.
Im not sure if this means its a problem with cooker, the wiring to where its wired into the switch etc. The oven and some of the hobs work fine. Also worried it may not be safe
Has anyone experienced this?

Call an electrician out. Make sure he has City and Guilds 2391.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Yup. No brainer.0 -
I have had this issue as well, although it has only happened twice.
I will get someone out, but could someone give me something to identify what theproblem is likely to be - the oven or the fuseboard?
If its the oven then thats my responsibii;ty, as opposed to the fuseboard that belongs and is maintained by LL ( adn therefore not pay for the electrician) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Saw exactly the same problem in run down student digs I used to live in. Definitely an electrician job. Very difficult to isolate which is the problem without trying something else you know is approximately the same power and current and seeing it trip again."She is quite the oddball. Not a new one? I suspect it is only one hotplate/ring, and is usually one of two things (l) element or (2) thermostat/dial switch all in one box thing.
You have not tried fixing this type of thing before ? - you havn't lived0 -
Has a pan bubbled over at some point lately. Ours sometimes gets water tripping it out. Once it dries then it works again.0

If I was going to take a guess, I'd say you had an iffy heating element on the hob, but that's hardly a certainty. You need to leave it to a sparky.0 -
It has happened only when I use one of the rings. So I dont use it anymore.
I realise now I was being overly tight so am browsing for a new one.:o:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Yeah personally I'd think that was an indication of it being the hob and it was the same with us, just the one ring that'd set it off. But you can't exclude the possibility the wiring and fusebox could be flaky as well. It's not necessarily just one cause. I suppose get a new hob (I realise how flippant I'm being with your money that sounds) and see if there's any more problems.
