Help needed with phone choice...<please>

I'd be really grateful if anyone can help me with this as I've been looking for a new mobile deal but am just so confused....

I was on an 18month vodafone contract for £16 per month which included 250 texts & 600min off peak landline calls. I tended to use all the texts & a large chunk of the calls. My current phone is a Samsung S300M which has been great, but now falling apart. I don't need an mp3 player or games although a camera would be quite nice. I rarely use the phone for calls (except to use up the off peak mins) as my main use is for texting. In fact the only other requirement is that I can turn the ring to vibrate as I rarely even answer it!

I do text abroad (which was not included in my allowance) but I can't see anyone that specifically mentions these as being included in any allowance. I need to keep any contract under £20 per month. Also prefer not to have a redemption offer as I only sent 1 of the 3 off with this phone. I'm thinking of just signing up to Vodafone Samsung Z500, £16per month with 250 txts & 1000 off peak mins, or pay an extra £40 to go for the same deal with the D600. Anybody have any thoughts?

  • What have they offered you as an upgrade?
Good idea to look around and then call voda retentions and see if they will match or maybe even better it and it saves you the hassle of moving networks

It's strange, they didn't offer me anything that I couldn't better by going to their website (plus of course going through quidco or similar to pick up cashback). First wanted me to pay £60 for the D600 & stay on the same deal (250txt & 600mins) for another 18 months, then reduced it to £40 when I mentioned their website. I was so confused on the phone I don't think she imagined I'd be able to use the internet!!

I'd rather go to their website & get 1000 mins (getting a new phone number isn't really a problem). Maybe I just don't make them enough money? ;)
