I saw another good one yesterday, Tesco, 2 x 2 pack Garlic Bread (chilled) for £2.20. 1 x 3 pack of same garlic bread £1. So I can have 4 for £2.20 or 6 for £2.

They should only do quantity if the items are the same. I sometimes get customers buy like 10 muller yoghurts all different flavors and they will tell me there's 10 there but I have to tell them they need to go through separately as they are different flavors and will muck the stock levels up.
Also with the basics items all having the same style packaging its easier to just can everything that look to see whats the same.0
