i sold a dvd on ebay, a woman won it on friday afternoon at 1pm. i sent her an invoice at 3pm. still heard nothing, i emailed her last night (about 8pm) to ask her to contact me about payment for the item she has bought. but as yet i have heard nothing from her.
ordinarily i wouldnt have emailed her but she only has 1 feed back and on that feedback it says... "fast payer, both decided to cancel transaction", what does that mean. she paid then decided that she didnt want the item or couldnt the seller get in touch so refunded her??
i have no idea what to do now. how long should i leave her? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated:)

UPDATE:
ok she emailed me today, which is 6 daysafter the auction and says "she had been bereaved so hasnt been able to get to her pc. then says she cant set up paypal so if i send her my address she will send me cash in the post!! what should i do? it hasnt been 7 days and i didnt specify paypal only arghhhhhhhh i know i should be sympathetic for her loss but i cant help but feel a bit strange about this one, i have never dealt without paypal before except for collection only!what should i do, should i give her my address and the benefit of the doubt and hope everything ends ok? help:)

She has 7 days to pay its only been 2!. I would not contact her anymore she might think your harrassing her and leave appropriate feedback later. Leave it till the 6th day then send another invoice. If she has not paid in the 7th open a non paying buyer dispute in paypal.

Ebay give buyers 7 days to pay before a seller can open a claim for non-payment. I'd normally send a reminder if they hadn't paid three full days after the invoice, then another on the 6th day, then open a non-paying bidder on them.

In this case however I think you're being a little twitchy due to it being a new ebayer. The feedback just means that the transaction was cancelled mutually, and you can only speculate on what the reason was.

ok thanks i wouldnt have normally emailed her on the second day or even thought badly about it if i hadnt looked at her feedback, just got me worrying. thank you for your advice :)
i think it is usually because people usually pay within afew hours of winning an auction... i usually do it within the hr! so i was automatically thinking the worst when i hadnt heard anything 24 hrs later!
    thank you :)

Consider the fact that the buyer may have just gone away for the weekend.

Just as an observation and no offence to the OP meant but I wonder if this 'immediate' malarky is why sellers also have problems?

Ebay is a venue only, you buy, you get 7 days to pay, 7 days to ship (both maximum and not a target to aim for) and yet here today we have two new threads with sellers asking what to do as their buyers haven't paid immediately.

I wonder if this extends through to buyers as well, they pay and start whinging at us on day 2 when they don't get their items, or else they just leave 1 or 2 * for dispatch times. Could this explain why it is almost impossible to get a 5" rating across the board, everyone expects ebay to be completely instantaneous?

I'm 9 days in now on my 2900+ feedback buyer and I still haven't opened an NPB as it just seems so odd.

I agree with you on the payment but for the shipping it says in a persons listing how many days they will ship in (mines set to 2) so if the seller falls out of this the buyer has a right to have a moan.

I always think that part of the problem for new sellers and buyers is that they dont understand the T&Cs so they really dont know what is correct procedures etc. 10 minutes spent reading them when you first join ebay can save a lot of stress and hassle.

Even with the shipping times it doesn't stop the inpatient ones. I had a very irate buyer who paid 5 days after winning (I don't mind that) who wanted her item next day yet only paid for 2nd class post. When it did arrive she left me a positive but remarked she was 'gutted' as it took over a week to arrive..yet she left feedback on day 8 and thinking about it she could account for one of the 1 or 2 * stars on my personal selling account .

ok ok, i get it i am being overly paranoid!!!!!!! hee hee hee, wow! i will leave her for a week and give her the benefit of the doubt, i am assuming she has either gone away for the weekend, or cant get to a pc at the weekend. i just saw her 1 feedback that ended in transaction cancelled and worried. didnt mean to come across as really impatient, i really dont mind if a buyer takes 7 days, just was worried as she is new and might not really know what she is doing so thought that if she contacted me i could help her.
also my dispatch of item is set to 1 day after payment received but send on the day of payment received and also p&p is free but i send 1st class, so i dont dawdle about or add any money for postage. the thing is sat on the table bubblewrapped and in an envelope waiting to be posted at my cost!
