    Morning all
good luck Bitsy - hope it does turn out to be some work :)

NPM - dd(12) is also obsessed with Primeval - she bought the last dvd with her own money last weekend and then watched every single one back to back - took the whole weekend - I dreamed of dinosaurs in the kitchen! My dsis-in-law - teaching assistant with a son(15) very much on the spectrum - thinks that dd may have autistic tendencies if i'm saying that right. I'm not so sure though - her obsessions are pretty short-lived - once she's satisfied that she's got every episode or learned as much as she wants to know she drops them. At the moment it's primeval, Torchwood, Canterbury Cathedral and .... lesbians :confused: not sure why the last one but it's making for some interesting dinner conversations :rotfl::rotfl:

Pre-working-week house blitz is coming along nicely - upstairs all done so just the living room and kitchen to do today and those are not too bad. Meeting up at Pizza hut this afternoon - must check for vouchers - to celebrate dd(19)'s birthday - it's not till Tuesday but this is the best weekend. Mr CaringSharing is treating the girls to Harry Potter on Wed so, although no0ne's told me, i'm guessing I'm having dgs(4) that night.

    have good sundays

Oh squigglydiddly - lovely to have you back and WELL DONE! you must be so proud
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Good morning all!

Pouring here this morning,so have watered all the house plants in my care, cleaned, fed, watered and talked to the mynah bird [in english, which she doesnt understand  ] and have cleared the many empty boxes that DDil3 has 'saved' to the basement . These were stacked all around the kitchen so now i can wash the floor. I had strict instructions not to throw anything away, from her and told to chuck stuff from DS3, so a slight conflict of interests there methinks

Am going to make courgette muffins this afternoon if its still wet, going up the hill to pick blackberries for their freezer if not, the walk in the fresh air will do me good after being stuck in!

Christenings here as well!! dgs and dgd are being christened while on their holidays in Barbados and i'll get the video either tonight or tomorrow from the family. DS3 asked if i was ok with it, i think he was a bit nervous, but as long as they are happy then i am too.

    Halight...good luck for this afternoon
Redruby...what a shock for you both, take care hun.

    have a great day everyone

    Morning all,

long time no see.... been MIA for a few weeks finishing (and getting!!) a 2:1 degree :j So as soon as I am registered with the professional body I can call myself a qualified social worker. My graduation ceremony in 2 weeks which I am really looking forwards to. Have a job all lined up for the autumn as well, working 4 days a week with 11-16 year olds. In the meantime I've been taking a chance to relax, catch up with friends & went to Champneys last week which was lovely...
Feels like such a long time since I've been here (it is!) and other than skimming through today's/yesterday's threads, no idea what's been going on.

Redruby - ouch :( Hope you & OH feel less sore soon & very lucky you didn't have your DD with you.
Halight - hope the medical goes ok.
:hello: MSDiva, Mioliere, Aussie, Dorry and everyone else!

Belated birthday & anniversary wishes to all those I have missed & (((((hugs)))))) for everyone needing them.

Despite being at home for the past few weeks, the OSing has slipped a little, but now I feel more revived I am determined to get myself sorted again. Mum cooking the roast today as my little sis is over from Bognor for the weekend though. Today I need to:

    Unload/load DW
Put a load or 2 in the WM & hang outside to smell lovely & fresh
    Tidy kitchen worktops
    Mop kitchen floor
    Hoover/sweep downstairs
Make some cake/flapjack or something for packed lunch treats for one DD next week.
Meal Plan!!!! (haven't done this for months & spending a bomb as a result...)

Have a lovely day everyone. xx

    A BIG WELLDONE TO YOU:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
gOOD LUCK WITH GETTING A JOB

    Afternoon all,

Have redone the washing that ended up on the ground during the night, made DGD2s bed, made a vat of spag bol sauce, tidied living room and am just now waiting for them to arrive.

Welcome back Squiggly and congratulations on the 2:1 and the job....well done you!

PenPin, sorry to hear you are not great, take care.

    Halight....good luck with medical.

Redruby...glad OH is getting a courtesy car, mind that back.

JackieO....how lucky your grandchildren are to have a granny like you....I never had a granny so feel deprived.

Bitsy....glad you survived the christening...you deserve to take things easy to-day.

Bargainbird....hope that your baptisms go well to-day.

    Hester....you lead a wild life!

NPM...you are such a wonderful mother...

Better go and get some lettuce etc together to put a salad together to have with the spaghetti....none of my family 'do' puddings, so not bothering to-day

    congratulations Squiggly
just had lunch , will wash up then have half an hour sitting in the garden - doing absolutely nothing :D
  • just having a quick cup of tea and 5 mins. DS gone out in the van with OH to pick something up.
The italian brisket has been in oven for 2 hours now...2 more to go...smells gorgeous already:D
OH has put up a shelf in the kitchen which fell down last week at 6am under the strain of many cookbooks:o..so I have cleared the pile of cookbooks off the floor which has been bugging me for a week.
DS has had"Dont stop till you get enough" on all morning..the neighbours must think we are stuck in a loop of a MJ memorial :rotfl:..........OH feels quite embarrassed by it but after 6 years of DS I no longer know shame or embarrassment;)
Have done all the cleaning today so hopefully tomorrow I can get down to summer hol planning for DS......have been having a look on `net this morning briefly but the problem is it is difficult to find anything to do with him and his interests:rolleyes: and he cant cope with big days out or lots of people/busy places.
Stefejb the obssessive interests can be an autistic trait but there are many other things which are present at the same time...eg language difficulties, lack of social awareness and repetitive actions.....eg the flapping or another of my sons is making an alarm noise everytime a door is opened( main door, cupboard door any door:cool:).
MeanMarie what a lovely thing to say..am rather humbled:o but really I just try to make his life as fun and happy as I can under the circumstances and try to change things so he can join in as other kids would.
I don`t know who it was but someone had a signature on here which said " and all this time I thought I had to change you, now I know I only have to change the world to fit you".....that kind of sums it up really.....I work within the boundries of his autism rather than trying to get rid of it....can be hard work but it works:T

    Afternoon all!

Happy belated birthday to Master Taplord, hope that he enjoys his day out today xx

Squiggly - congratulations, well done you! Enjoy your break before you start your new job xx

Halight - hope the medical goes well, taking the twins might not be such a bad idea, even now if I'm fed up with rotten service I make sure I drag my four along the next time, never fails to result in speedier service! Prob cos they just want to get rid of us lol! xx

NPM - your adventures with the MJ songs have made me giggle, my neighbours are used to the madness that goes on here and often just join in! The dance routines are a killer though aren't they, my dd3 is obsessed by them, actually my oh was escaping upstairs to avoid watching us do yet another one when he fell through the ceiling lol!

Redruby - hope that the whiplash is easing a bit today and that you are both recovering from the shock. And to answer your question, oh is a nice shiny new one! He is actually best friends with a really close friend of mine, and came along on one of our night's out, we got chatting and the rest is history! He is lovely, incredibly funny and makes me smile all the way through. He gets on really well with my chidlren and they all think he's fab, thankfully! At the mo my ex seems determined not to have the kids staying with him, so comes here once a fortnight to stay and spend time with them and I decamp to oh's place - little strange and can be a bit fraught, but at least he is spending time with them, though the promised drop in visits have never materialised :-S

Anyhoo, os stuff today involved getting home and doing a lot of cleaning and washing, changed bedding, cleaned bathrooms, and need to hang more washing on line in a mo and bung next lot in!

Whizzed to shop to get some supplies in, fridge was looking slightly decimated, not too bad as reductions were just being done in Asda! Grabbed some heavily reduced meat as well, so now need to get on and make a meal plan for it all. Kids are asking for healthy stuff as they had takeaways for their meals whilst their dad was looking after them - nice as a treat, but nice to know that they do want real food as well, even dd1 who loves junk food seems to be reaching a point where she gets fed up with it!

Still need to hoover and iron uniforms, will set the kids to with the hoover whilst I go to collect oh from work, and then do ironing with a nice glass of wine!

Also need to whizz up some tray bakes for lunches and work out why my bread is so cack lately, either over risen or like a brick, very odd! Will send oh via Aldi tomorrow on his way home, so that he can grab some more of the super 6 - it's great value and fab when it's stuff that I use lots!

Hope everyone has a lovely afternoon and evening xx
