Exchange rate for Hungarian Forint?
Options

Court

Please forgive my question if it's rather thick, but I am new to this.
I can find the exchange rate, but how can I tell if it's better to buy here or buy there?

The best option would be to use a Nationwide debit card in a Hungarian ATM, rejecting currency conversion if offered by the machine.0

Thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately, I am traveling Thursday and don't have one of those.
I have a Travelex Electron card that I could load, an HSBC credit and/or HSBC Maestro card.
Over the years I have always just used ATMs to get currency in country when I arrived as that was my ex-partners way of doing things. Now that I am going solo, it's my first time to consider other options. I am trying to understand this but must admit I feel very confused. All help appreciated. Thanks to all the angels who post! :A0 -
There will be better rates if you change in Hungary because the commission here is 8-10%. But there will also be some rip-off places so check the rate and commission before handing over your money. You might also want to take some foreign currency with you to cover your immediate needs. You could also use your Maestro card, but not for very small amounts as there will be a minimum charge (2%, but at least £1.75) as well as 2.75%. If you have a Plus/Premier HSBC account you only pay the 2.75% so can withdraw small amounts.0
