Hi, could someone help please?
I've seen various people insert images from web pages to explain their replies. How do you do this? I've just tried to copy an exert from a website, to post on the Discount codes forum, but it's just come out as text, not a picture, and it's all over the place
I'm not talking about inserting a link, just a portion of a webpage, to show someone where something is.

Actually I don't think that is what you're after as that was simply inserting a picture. It sounds to me more like you want to take a screenshot of a section of the webpage which isn't necessarily already a single picture (unlike dogmaryxx's example). In which case you'd need to literally take a screenshot of the screen (crop it, or if using Vista use the Snipping tool, host it on something like http://tinypic.com/ and then insert it/link it here)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

To take a snapshot of your monitor display, just press shift+PrtScn. This will copy the image into the clipboard. Then just Paste into your application.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

Yes superscaper, you're right.
I use Vista and had played around with the Snipping tool, but I don't know what 'hosting' is. I will have a read.
Thanks taffy, but I wanted to copy a small portion of a webpage, to explain something in my reply on these forums.
Ok dogmary, i'm jealous!0 -

One of the great things with Vista is the Snipping tool that's built in. No need to do any cropping afterwards. You actually select the area to be screenshot. So I think you're pretty spot on, just with Vista you can miss out a lot of the steps.
I'd suggest tinypic over photobucket just because you don't have to bother with signing in/account/privacy settings etc. Just upload the picture and copy the link."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
