Free laptop with mobile contracts

Can anyone suggest any sites to get free laptops with contract mobile phones as free gift incentives.

Thanks!

  • Hi there,

I'm looking into getting a deal with either Vodaphone or O2 (don't want to go with any other provider as all their receptions are terrible in my area) and I'm also after one of the free laptop deals.

Has anyone done this and are they worth it? The two main deals floating about that I'm considering are of...

    free Acer Aspire 5335 laptop
    ...or...
    free Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop

I'm after a laptop which will be able to save lots of music including the ability to record full 2 hour WAV files as temporary files.

The only phone contracts I can get are 24 months and they are all around the £40 mark. I don't mind paying this as long as the phone is good and I get bundles of free texts etc which they all seem to offer. I'm veering towards the Nokia 5800 or 5530, though i'd really love the N97 (though I don't think this comes with a laptop as part of the deal). I'd go for a good Ericcson as well.

Has anyone got advice or links to good deals such as these?
dialaphone and mobiles.co.uk seem quite reasonable...?

Any help much appreciated in advance.

  • I've just done similar to what you're looking at, only I got a free Xbox Elite instead of a laptop :) No problems at all, the free gift was delivered the next day with the handset (this was from mobiles.co.uk).

I actually have the Dell laptop you mention above and I would definitely recommend it. Excellent machine and looks pretty too :o:rotfl: (I have the pink one!)

    Hi Jibba,
Can only speak for mobiles.co.uk and advice would be stay well clear ;)
Even if the deal doesn't seem as good its better going somewhere else !
It's not just about the money
  • I have the Acer 5335 & havent had any problems with it as yet. I got it in April when I took out a contract with Orange, through carphone warehouse - the guy was great at finding a package that suited me & I was able to take the phone & laptop away with me that day.

Can't tell you much about the laptop capabilities I'm afraid - I really just use it for internet browsing, word & excell!!

Invariably it's cheaper to buy the laptop separately elsewhere, these deals are terrible and just tie you into a longer contract.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I have seen in the past offers of free laptop if you sign up for a mobile phone, I didnt upgrade my o2 phone in June and I am now on a month to month contract till I see what kind of phone I want. I really need a laptop at the moment but cant really afford one. Is there any decent tariffs that would get me a laptop free?? I dont really want to go with 3 but any other network considered.

    thanks in advance

The laptop is never free, it just ties you into an expensive 24 month phone contract and the total cost is invariably more than if you had bought the laptop separately.
