Hi fifeken,The old system seemed to work OK for me
Unfortunately it did not work as well for other users. In practice the previous system was inconsistent. It worked differently depending on the user and their particular way of using the forums. That caused confusion. We even received reports that for some users the system wasn't working at all.
Now the system is more consistent, reliable, and straightforward. "Instant notification by email". That's what you get. It does exactly what it says on the tin. I appreciate your patience in giving the new system a chance. Thank you.

As per the other thread, can you change the standard phrase for email notifications to remove the
"There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again."
line?
Can easily be done via the Language/Phrases section in the AdminCP if I recall from having to do similar elsewhere.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Must say I prefer the old way which seems to work for all other forums I visit.0 -
Looks like it has gone back to the way it was which I must prefer.
I have today subscribed to a very busy thread and am only getting one email, which takes me to the last post since my last visit. Once I have read them all then if anyone else posts, that is when I get my next email. Much better this way rather than hundreds of emails in your inbox. The best things in life are free.....0
