Looking for a car with high seating

Mercedes Benz A Class is higher because the engine is mounted under the car. I have a B Class and it is fab - like 4x4 seating but without the crap fuel economy. Don't think you'll get one for £5k though.
The OP can get an original A-Class for less then £5k. But I wouldn't recommend it given it's appalling reliability and build quality. The man without a signature.0 -
I had this problem a few months ago when sciatica mostly caused by the very low front seats in my Honda Jazz became intolerable. I need a seat which is high above the car floor, not just high above the ground, so the Mercedes A class was unsatisfactory.
The best front seats in reasonably sized cars were in the Skoda Fabia, Skoda Roomster, VW Golf Plus and VW Touran. In fact I am reasonably sure that they all had the same front seats which will adjust up to about 38cm from the floor (both front seats can be adjusted if you choose the correct model). The Jazz had 26cm and 29 cm front seats.
I went for the Roomster as it had the best rear seat access for our elderly parents0
