Hi All

I am trying to find the most cost effective way of ending my contract with Vodafone, it isnt up till Jan/Feb time i think. I can downgrade my contract to £17 a month though. If i did this could i then pay off my contract in full at £17 a month?

Thanks for your help!

    Hi their matty ,

Vodafone contract termination fee is monthly rental - 15% Vat x the remaining months of your contract plus a 25% discount as you are not actually using the service.

So in theory I very ROUGHLY estimate your termination would cost :

    15% of £17 = £14.45

    £14.45 x 7 (months of contract) = £101.50

25% Discount of rental minus VAT = £25

    TOTAL IS VERY ROUGHLY

    = £76.50

Sorry for teh very rough estimate but if you ring then they can give you the exact sum :) , Don;t forget you can only downgrade your price plan after 9 months at £5 a time.

    Hope this helps

p.s. If this sum is wrong , can a mathmatic person please point out the correct sum :)
 I am great , yes I am

    Thanks CLLC that's great!

ill give them a ring tomorrow

Is anyone having a problem when using 191 to contact Vodafone? I have tried it a few times now over about a week and whatever option i choose it just cuts off? Suprisingly if i ring the 0870 number it connects fine.

Vodafone don't have a tariff which is £17... only a £17.01 (or around that) which + VAT is £19.57....

If you do have a tariff at £17, it'll be with discounts which won't apply to an early term.

    So
    7 * £17.01 = £119.07
    25% = roughly £30
    Price = £89.07

From past posts on this when you cancel you lose the discount so it'll be 7x whatever the original cost was not the £17 discounted price...
