This post has lost the plot.
The original thread referred to 'bmi card' which does exist and is issued by MBNA, their offer gave you 20000 diamond miles after initial purchase which was enough for a return flight to europe + taxes flying with mainline bmi. You can also use your credit towards longhaul flights. I have one of these cards & 20000 miles.

What 'hansi' the original poster really meant was that bmibaby bmi's LCC now have a credit card issued by Citibank. After initial purchase you can claim a return flight on a bmibaby flight to any of their european destinations + taxes.
You can also claim a free flight + taxes every 12 months as long as you have spent £5000. I have applied for one of these too.

    Hope this clears things up.

I have just been on their site and if you click on destinations it will list all the places you can fly to for 10000miles, 20000miles, etc....there are a lot of distant european places listed. I am trying to decide whether to apply as I am worried about my credit rating as I need another stooze card soon....does this have a free 0% BT time with it?

Yes, lots of us said that before. But then someone asked about the bmi card so the conversation has gone back onto that.

Opened this the last time it was on offer. Both me and mrs chalky_bertie got the cc and spent under a £5 each. Low and behold a few weeks later mileage was on account and then booked flight. However you have to pay the taxes. Only kept card open while we have used the flight in case they need to see it. Off to Poland this weekend with them.

How much are taxes (ballpark figure, I know they vary by airports.) IS there any limitations on dates, times etc?

    Cheers

I had a call this evening from MBNA about the card, trying to get me to sign up for extras etc. The guy mentioned in passing that in order to qualify for the 20,000 miles, I'd need to spend £250 in the first 90 days. I hadn't been back on this website since applying so didn't question it. I've just checked the terms & conditions on the bmi website and it only says you need to spend on the card, not that you have to spend £250. Anyone else heard this? I think I'm going to print off the terms and conditions just in case.
  • Can anyone tell me if they have succesfully booked one of these free bmibaby credit card free flights? I have had a look at the so called flights which are still available but even why I try to book one of these they are coming up as not available even though they are showing on the flight calendar. Is is all a big con? And no-one at bmi seems to want to help with this!
