I have been looking at the t+c's for this offer, and in the first paragraph it states that you only have to make one purchase (i.e. a newspaper) to be eligible for the offer. But in a further paragraph it states

"This offer by bmibaby is open to primary cardholders of a bmibaby credit card, upon which the total valid retail purchase expenditure exceeds £5,000 per annum. The offer can only be redeemed after the 12 month anniversary of account opening date. An email address must be provided in order to become eligible under the scheme and redemptions can only be made online. "

Does that mean you have to spend a total of £5000! Some free flight!

The first flight becomes available after initial spend(Just like the MBNA BMI card which earns diamond miles)

This BMIbaby card(Citibank) then allows you to earn another flight after £5000 spent.

That's how I read it. Anyway have applied as I use this airline reguarly. It doesn't say you get a CC fee waiver when booking though, you get this with the normal BMI card.

Opened this the last time it was on offer. Both me and mrs chalky_bertie got the cc and spent under a £5 each. Low and behold a few weeks later mileage was on account and then booked flight. However you have to pay the taxes. Only kept card open while we have used the flight in case they need to see it. Off to Poland this weekend with them.

  • do you need to have a BMI FF account or is one opened for you once you apply?

This thread is confusing the bmibaby card with the BMI card - they are different products offered by different banks IIRC.

Yep was just going to say - you are implying that there are issues with the bmi MBNA card from your title when you are talking about the bmi baby credit card offered by another lender.

Is the free flight a single or return with the BMI CARD?

It is a return - enough Star Alliance destination miles for a return flight.

Can I be massively pedantic and also point out that they are called 'bmi', not "BMI" or "Bmi". They are one of our clients and issue telling offs if anyone puts anything in capitals or refers to them as British Midland.

20000 miles is what you get, how do you find out how many miles it will be to a destination?

Say you want to book a flight to Turkey though (a destination bmi do not fly direct to), how do you know which Star Alliance partner to book the flight with? There are many routes that you can take - is there a preferred option?

Which is a relief that we don't work for them!!!
