Help with mobile contract and free laptop gift. And a pay as you go LG Viewty Lite!

Hi, this is my first post on this forum so I'm sorry if this has been posted before.

My current contract phone is ending and I have cancelled it. My current desktop PC is getting quite old and I may sell it to CEX for some extra cash, as I would like to get a new laptop.

I saw an offer of buy mobiles with a sony vaio laptop free with a nokia 1680 on a T-Mobile combo 30 for 18 months.

This is the sort of tariff I would like, however the phone doesn't really. I'd like a decent camera phone with about 5mpxl camera.

So I was wondering is this a good deal? A

nd I was thinking of selling the above phone and get a Lg Viewty Lite as they seem to be cheaper touchscreen phones at the moment.
Can anyone suggest a cheap place to pick one of these phones up as well?

Hope this makes sense

Thanks:beer:

I would suggest finding out how much that Sony Vaio costs in the shops, and comparing it with 18x the line rental you'll be paying. Probably a lot cheaper. Doing an advanced search in eBay and selecting 'completed items only' will show you the price that an item sold for - unless that phone is very new, there should have been some sold. You may be disappointed by the price you get for your computer in Cex...

These 'free' gifts are never free.
Take the 3 amobile broadband, the 15gb usage is £15 for 24 months, then the one with a free laptop is £30 for 24 months, so you pay £360 extra for the free laptop. No doubt the exact cost of the refurb laptop they send you.

And when the laptop expires after a year, you're left paying £30 a month for a service you can't use...
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Bear in mind you are tying yourself into a contract for 18 or 36 months and the speed of the connection will stay the same and at the same price. What will happen is in say 12 months time the connection times for everyone else will increase and teh costs will reduce but you will stay with the same price and same speed.

Nice business for the mobile phone company
