What should I do with my Virgin Mobile Sim Card?

Any suggestions what I should do with my Virgin Mobile Sim card. It has £170 on it and Virgin Mobile Customer services will not refund me (not that I expected them to but it was worth a shot). On Ebay vouchers go for not a lot so a sim card with money on it will go for even less. Can you use your money on your sim card to buy goods, new mobile phone etc? I have a work phone that I do not pay for so it seems a waste to use the credit for the sake of it
Thanks

I dont t hink you can do anything with the credit. I'd still say your best bet is ebay, or ask around, someone you know might give you a good price.0

You can buy 'dodgy' copies of music albums by reverse charge SMS at https://www.allofmp3.com0

I cant understand why anyone would want to prepay £170. Or did you get lots of free virgin sims with £5 credit and transfer all the credit to one sim?GONE ENGLAND0

I must admit I was puzzled about that too!

Can you do that?

why not open yourself a premium rate number
eg betting tips (keep the messege to answerphone otherwise you need permission from icstis)
and just simply dial the number from your mobile and leave it running
i think for a £1.50 per minute premium rate phone call you get about £1.10 back as profit and the other £0.40 goes to the phone company
cant remember about the set up costs, but you could easily make over £100 back in your pocket.0 -
Parents bought it as a present for me. I think they were actually pushed into being sold it with loads of credit by some salesperson! The person said that it was a real hassle topping up mobile phones and they believed him.

Can you not just use the credit up???
At least you'll get loads of free calls and texts for a long while...
Must be the cheapest way of doing it.
Wish I had a sim with that much credit ... I'd slap it in my w800i that is on a years free contract.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
The whole point is that my work now pay for all my calls etc so I would in effect be wasting it is I used that phone for the sake of it, hence trying to get money off it some way0

I would sell it on ebay. You might not get the full value but at least you would get something.
Is the number one that you could class as a 'Gold' number. That would also put the price up a bit.
Failing that give it back to your parents and let them use it. If they have mobiles what about another family member that doesn't?0
