Bentley owners at boot sale!

Its bonnet draped with bargains, the £150,000 Bentley Continental stood out in a sea of transit vans and hatchbacks at the boot sale in Edgware, North London.

Trousers, dresses, and jackets were draped over the convertible while boxes of shoes were laid out under a makeshift table nearby.

What stops people who own a bently selling stuff at a boot sale?

Surely if they were desperate for money they would sell the bently?

Why just throw stuff away when you can sell it?

    I've been Money Tipped!
There is an annual car boot sale near here with an equestrian section: many people turnup in their horseboxes, some of which are worth more than that. Most turn up in very nice four wheel drives. I turn up in my aging ittle car (to buy not to sell, yet). Who says the perople tuning up in the very nice horse boxes and smart cars have more ''wealth'' than I in my shabby car? I think its likely most of them are, but I'm willing to hazard a guess that some of them are ''debt rich'' not holding a lot of ''wealth''.

Of course another perspective could be, they are so frugal and money wise that they recycle what they can, run very efficiently to a tune that they can afford a Bentley......

It just depends which colour spectacles you're looking through.....

Blimey, a thread about someone with a nice car going to a car boot sale.

Nationwide, Halifix, Land Registry, Rightmove... someone release some figures, quick! We're low on discussion items!

What is more worrying for me is we have another daily mail reader:)

But look at this a yacht with just one helipad. More proof of bad things in a boom they would have an aircraft carrier.

Now turning up to a car boot fair with goods loaded in your helicopter...that would be newsworthy.....more a helicopter boot fair.

Would have been better if you'd been at the boot fair selling/buying, saw the Bentley (taken a pic and posted it) and relayed the chit chat you yourself had with the sellers.

A bit of a cop out linking Mail article.....they must be short of news at the mpment.....and such a gloaty, diggy article too....but with no real point to it.
OK couple with nice car flog some stuff at boot fair.......it's not news, just something for Mail readers to have a crow about I guess? Perhaps it makes them feel better about their own little lives?

We do Bootys once pa, clearing write offs.

I didn't think twice about stuffing a very nice, brand new sports car, a few years back, with stock and sliding it through the mud to my pitch. OK, the dealers were over me like a rash and opening the front passenger door grabbing things before i had even properly parked + got out of the car....but didn't say anything about me or my situation at all.
Or perhaps it did? Frugal but nice car?

I wish I had a photo of it to post up.

I'll add this link to the thread.
I read the article and it is now face up on the kitchen floor with the cat dishes on it.
I am not sure if it has already been posted as a 'feelgood' thread topic here.

You can read it and think 'Poor woman' or with a touch of glee.

Her financial situation could gave happened anyway...it's not a sign of how bad the recession is at all...just one tale of going down.
