Hi,
Wondered if anyone would have any advice re my story.
Last year I fell behind with payments to a credit card and had missed one months payment. (payment only 20 days late)
The C/C company sent a demand for the money to the wrong address.
They sent it to an individual who I knew. As you can imagine it was very embarassing due to the content of the letter. I was linked to this individual as we hold a joint account together for the purpose of fundraising.
Two days after this I rec'd the same letter to my address.
I have lived at my address for over ten years.
I complained to the company involved but they have said that they used a company to search for me in order to manage my account and the incorrect address was an address I was linked to.
They have aways contacted me, sent statements etc to my address.
Does anyone have any advice as to how I should take this forward?
Thanks

Even though the letter was sent to the wrong address, no one else should have opened it, so there should have been no embarrasment.
I would be more concerned about the individual opening clearly marked confidential mail that is not for them.“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -

Hi,
Thanks for you reply.
Think she opened it because sh e does rec mail to her address with my name on it as we have a joint bank account.0 -
If you have a joint bank account, then if either one of you mess up financially, the other one will also have their credit rating ruined.
As you missed a credit card payment, then I think this person has a right to know, as it will potentially mean that they can't get a decent mortgage rate or loan rate.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
My payment was only a few days late.
There is no issue as to her being blacklisted.
my complaint is to the nature of the information that was sent to this individual. My thoughts were that they should inform me in the first instance at my own address.0 -

What utter drivel!
Unless the credit card is linked to the joint account, your friend has no right to know anything regarding your financial dealings.0 -

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
There is no link at all, two seperate banks.
Do you think I should be taking my complaint further?0 -

You could begin with a letter addressed to the CEO of the CC company complaining of their clear breach of confidentiality.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I feel I should be compensated in some way.
It has completely destroyed the relationship and she suspects foul play.
I could understand if they had been chasing me for months but it was a couple of weeks late.0 -
Days or weeks? You're contradicting yourself.0
