Need advice! I want to use my locked HTC abroad using a local sim card

I've just got a HTC Touch Pro II locked to Orange network. I would like to use my phone on holiday in Thailand but I don't want to unlock my phone. I saw the "sim unlock card" ... so will it work with my phone? Another worry is .. can it damage my phone?

Hi
Ask over on xda-developers forum, they either have depending on your phone type a free unlock method or will unlock it for a small charge
