Benidorm

Was supposed to be going to Salou but at the last minute my friend decided on Benidorm, to me i don't really care a break is a break lol but as i've never been to benidorm before has anybody any tips? Places to go and see places to avoid etc Also we are going to do our transfers with resorthoppa, do they just drop you off at the nearest stop to your hotel?

TIA

I'll leave others to answer places to recommend or avoid but to answer the resorthopper question they will drop you off outside your hotel unless it is difficult for the coach to have access (narrow roads etc) and they will drop you as near as possible to your accommodation.
You will need to confirm your return departure time with them 24 hours before departure to airport either by phone, internet or probably best bet is if you bring your mobile they will text you to say when they will pick you up.

If you see Johnny Vegas parascending then get out the way a bit sharpish! :p
  • IMO the old town is much nicer and more spanish, if you like Blackpool you will love it.

It's much nicer than Blackpool, the sea is cleaner and beaches are superb, but they can get crowded.
Visit the Old Town will find it more Spanish.
Calpe is a nice place to go to, just up the coast, plenty of fresh fish restraurants. You can get there on the train.
If you want a good time Benidorm is excellent.

You dont say what board basis you're doing, but look for the chinese opposite the ambassador hotel its 5 euros for the happy meal all day long, which is a starter, main, hot drink or ice cream and half a bottle of wine, beer or coke and its really nice food and nice people own it, a few doors away on the same street is john and josephs very cheap for food and drinks but is the butt of the local comedians jokes. Beaches are beautiful, cleaned every morning. Mundomar is good if you like marine animals etc wasnt expensive when i went, theres also terra mitica (theme park) and terra natura (animals). Dont know about this time of year but when we go the tribute bands are great and look out for davy royal he's a comedian dressed as a caveman (usually at the town) particularly like his joke about the no name toilet roll. Watch out when changing your money the best places are the indoor market or the places with the big wine barrels outside read the small print ie a good rate if you change more than £2000!!! The market is good if you like markets, watch for pick pockets but not really any worse than anywhere else and dont have a go with the potato men as you only win the first time then you'll be skint.
Any thing else you want to know just ask.
