She doesn't have to list her conviction since her conviction is spent. Please read the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act for more details.0

How Unoriginal
If the post requires an enhanced disclosure all convictions, spent or otherwise need to be disclosed on the application form. http://www.crb.gov.uk/using_the_website/applicant.aspx#whymight
And from next year some people if working with some groups will need to be registered with these people http://www.isa-gov.org.uk/default.aspx
Along with being registered as care worker or social worker if appropriate http://www.gscc.org.uk/Home/ or registered with a the appropriate body if a teacher or lecturer http://www.gtce.org.uk/registration/ nusery nurse (in scotland), nurses and doctors.0 -
she had 2 interviews and was honest on both application forms about her conditional discharge.
1 nursery did not offer her a job but the other one as, just waiting for the crb check now.... (she showed them a recent one she had done for another job that she got before the credit crunch hit ) and they said as long as this one comes back like it then that is fine.
she did a 2nd interview which included working in the nursery.
so thank you for any advice0 -
Current estimates state that 11 million people will have to 'apply' to register with the ISA for a one off payment of £64. Yet another quango in addition to the failed CRB which will do absolutely zip to prevent another Little Teds or Peter Harvey type case. By the way Shel - Spoken like a true holier than thou social worker. I bet you are fearful for the day that family courts are opened up and your 'judgements' are exposed to full public scrutiny. Kurjam - Congratulations to your friend.0

I'm actually more in the youth criminal courts, which are open, as are my judgements, to any member of the public or press that wants to come and sit, listen and watch. Which they often do and I have no problem with that. I know I do what is in the best interests of the child within the law given to me by government. I dont stand from the sidelines whining about whats wrong with the world and doing nothing about it like you, I'm out there trying to change what is wrong.0 -
There you go again Shel, making judgements. You dont know which political party or pressure groups I am members of. Lets just say none are friends of social workers or the database state.0

Woody01 - You clearly asked 'Would you want this woman around your children' This implies that you think she is a 'risk'. Articulate how she is and what the kids are at risk of. What about that man who has a criminal record for leaving his bin lid up 4 inches? Would you want him around your kids? Do you believe that this woman should never work again? Does this apply to everyone with a criminal record? If so, put in plenty of overtime so that your taxes can fund me and all the other undesirables to sit on our !!!!!! doing nothing so you can be surrounded by the whiter than white like yourself. Like Ive said before Woody01, lets hope no-one makes a false allegation against you lest you becomed stained forever like the rest of us.
2. Leaving a bin open is a total different argument than someone who has commited fraud and therefore a thief. Surely you can see that. If not then maybe you need to look at yourself.
3. I am not whiter than white. However, i am not a thief, fraudster, and therefore not a criminal. I work hard for a good lifestyle on the CORRECT side of the law.
4. Where does the 'false allegation' part come from. You have said yourself this friend was convicted. Nothing false about that is there?0 -
Shel - Just answer the question. Do you think that OP friends 13 year old benefit fraud conviction puts any child at that club at risk?
You either cannot read or choose to ignore what is written.
I HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OFFENCE vs THE NEW JOB!
IT IS THE FACT THAT THE FRIEND (who i suspect is really you) IS OBVIOUSLY NOT TRUSTWORTHY DUE TO BEING A CONVICTED FRAUDSTER.
It is THAT simple.0 -
I will answer this (again)!
