When NOT to finish an auction!

Hey,
Sometimes you can't list things perfectly. You may only have a Friday night to get things listed and therefore can't time your auctions to finish Sat/Sun.
So from experience, when is the worst day to finish an auction. Mine has to be a Monday, will always make sure I avoid that day!
I know other factors come into it such as big football games etc, just thought it could be a bit of a fun poll ...

I accidentally had something listed to finish yesterday evening (Saturday) and it was a disaster for me, went for opening bid of £4.99 when I usually sell the same item for between £8-£12 on a mid week night.
I really think it depends on what you are selling though and who your item is aimed at.

I wouldnt finish an auction during the day midweek! I prefer them to finish on a Sunday evening. My theory is less people may flock to ebay during the day during the week!Weight Loss - 102lb0

most of my items are buy it now & it seems there are many mon-fri, 9-5 workers out there 'bored' at their desk and so decide to browse ebay and spend a little cash! most sales for me are mon-fri0

I seem to find things sell cheaper on a tuesday........What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0

all depends what you sell sometimes. i.e. I managed to get way more than expected selling stuff like CSI series DVD's that finished about 30 minutes after the TV porgrammes had been on a Monday and Tuesday, hit and miss really depends on the item and who you are aiming at0

I seem to sell less well on a sunday night.my figuring is folk have spent up on the friday/saturday.Out seeing relatives...sorting things for school/work......family time.
Seem to do best on a thursday night.People thinking what they are spending following days wages on.Weeks start and finish of month I think would be better than mid month.Praps I think too much lol0 -
worst night is friday then saturday too many people in the pubs"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0

I tend to put a lot of stuff on to finish early friday and pick up the "bored at work at end of week" crowd. Has worked out quite well for me.
I would avoid later on friday and all saturday and sunday afternoon - especially if you're in the parents with kids marker, as likely the parents are looking after said kids, and won't get on line till their beloved rugrats have gone to bed. So sunday night looks good. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
I avoid Saturday evenings, when everyone seems to be out. On weekdays, I avoid 4:45-6:30pm, which seems to be a quiet time on eBay, when the customers are on their way home from work. Any time between 11pm-9:30am is generally a bad idea whatever the day.0
