Has your petrol gone up 5p per litre?

Sorry if someone else has already mentioned this - but it struck me that combining use of https://www.petrolprices.com and https://www.5minutesaway.co.uk could be the way forward for saving money on long distance trips. I've just been using it to work out a trip from London to Liverpool - should be able to save a bit compared to motorway services both on petrol and by eating at supermarket cafes.
And to answer the original post - yes it's gone up by about 3p here in London.0 -
Yes in Aberdeen it has gone from 85.9 pence to todays price of 89.9 pence per litre. The supermarkets are following the trend too. I used to use sainsburys or ASDA as it was always a couple of pence below the others but they are the same price as Shell now. Lets not even go there with BP and Esso as they are always way above anyone else.
What infuriates me is that the crude oil passes within a few miles of me in a pipeline from the North Sea.
Is it possible that they kept their prices low in anticipation of the budget in the hope of sticking a bit on when duty was increased so we'd all blame Gordon and not the companies?
Theory two, the Pipeline card is growing in popularity and by increasing the price now they will get people just paying the same as they would have done before the increase.0 -

 Gone up to 92.9 here in the West Midlands
Don't the oil companies buy oil on the futures market? If so they will have paid a bid price months ago, but I don't really understand about the futures markets, so is there anyone able to explain it - in easy language please!?
I use the site for petrol prices but not heard of the 5 minutes away one...will check it out. Thanks!TW0906Blue
