Has your petrol gone up 5p per litre?

I've notice that the price of petrol (and diesel) has been going up consistently over the last few weeks. Checking back on my receipts, Sainsburys has increased the price per litre from 87.9 to 92.9 in the last month (from 7th March).

Is there a supply problem that hasn't been reported - or is this local to my area in the Midlands?

I do use petrolprices.com to monitor the price and always shop around - but prices follow each other v. quickly in my area.

Yes we are @ 92.9 aswell. and yes it has gone up real quick, (South wales),

There is this site to get your best price
    http://www.petrolprices.com/

The best thing to do is use diesel and free used veg oil as a mix 50:50
  • Just seems to be creeping up every few days by a penny a litre, I'm in South Manchester and it's around 90.0 to 92.9 here.

Yes, it seems to have gone up 1p a day over the last four days here. My local Shell garage is now charging 99.9p for diesel.

Funny how sometimes these sudden price rises make the news headlines, but other times they totally slip beneath the radar and there's no coverage in the news whatsoever. I bet the oil companies love it when there's no fuss - they can sneak another couple of pence on a litre.

The price for a barrel of crude has been rising recently due to uncertainty over Iraq and Iran and supply reductions from Nigeria.
If however the US attacks Iran with nuclear weapons as reports from US indicate they are planning, then we will look back on present prices amazed at how cheap they were.
