Hi everyone,

My problem: I recently won an O2 XDA Zest unlocked mobile from the competition board. And want to switch to this phone from my current Orange Contract mobile an LG ISO800.

Although the sim works in the phone and I can call out , txt etc, I cannot get the WAP to work on the phone. I press the internet button and nothing happens.

So how can I get the WAP to work???

Any help appreciated, as I can't switch to my new phone till I get WAP working.

It won't have the settings for Orange in it. The info it needs to use all the service live on the phone. If its not an Orange handset it won't have them.

Not sure how you'll get them to be honest, Orange don't do the phone so won't have them on file to tell you or send out. You could try calling data support (where I used to work), if someone there knows they may be able to talk you through entering them and testing...

As its an HTC device they might be able to work something out?

    156.

I'd avoid lunch time, what you need is going to take quite a time and if they're short staffed they'll just tell you they can't do it. I'd try after 2, just be aware they may tell you they can't do it any way as its not an Orange handset... Good luck.

The O2 Zest is made by ASUS (does look like an HTC though).

OP - Try the below settings for internet. The below is a slightly edited version of settings posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517680&highlight=Orange+internet+settings

From the today screen tap Start,
    Then Settings
    Then the Connections tab
    Then Connections
    Then the Advanced tab
    Then Select Networks
Below the first drop down box tap new
Enter Orange Internet for the name
Select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G) from the modem list
    Tap Next
Enter orangeinternet in the access point name
    Tap Next
Leave the 'Username', 'Password' and 'Domain' blank
    Tap Finish
    Tap the Proxy Settings tab
Tick 'This network connects to the Internet'
Un-tick 'This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet'
    Tap ok three times
    Tap x
