Orange text problem abroad
I have the same problem every year with Orange Mobile.
I recieve my bill and any texts charges, shown on my bill from abroad, are duplicated or even trebled. For example, I text my brother to say we have arrived safe, yet on my bill it shows I text him 5 times at exactly the same time and date. This is repeated with other numbers, sometimes just two charges but also up to five 40p charges for me sending what was one text.
I am 100% sure that I would have sent just one short message to a person at home, but my Orange bill indicates that I sent up to FIVE messages to that person all at EXACTLY the same time. Has any other member had this problem ?

Could be a billing problem (well, obviously it is...).
I've seen this where the change is x times the standard but the billing computers mess it up...
So, if your roaming and the cost to send a text is , for example 3 times normal, rather than one text at 30p it'll bill at 3 texts at 10p... What could be happening here is it's doing both, changing at the higher rate AND multiplying.
Have you called Orange and asked them to look at your billing ?0 -
Not called them yet, I have had this problem for at least four trips abroad.
Each time is a long process of calling them and insisting that I am not a street wise 14 year old and I cannot physically send 5 texts within 60 seconds as the bill shows. I usually end up getting some but not all of the charges credited back. I wanted to put this on a forum to see if any other person had had a similar issue with a phone provider.0 -
It should be a simple matter to check the call logs, even roaming there will be a log of all traffic and they can see the billing doesn't make sense. Like 5 texts all send at the same moment (everything is date stamped).
Get on to billing and ask for a team leader to sort it out, they can access more systems than the frontline agents.0
