I did a quick internet search and think the Chief Exec is Beverley Aspinall. I have sent her an email to beverley.aspinall@fortnumandmason.co.uk and it hasn't bounced back so far. I have included the link for this thread but would suggest anyone who isn't happy emails her too. It's the only way companies learn where they are falling short of expectations.

good on you!

If enough of you complain to BBC Watchdog they may investigate it. I can't believe the terrible service some of you have got.
Cake please...

I have had an email from customer services today apologising and offering to refund my postage as well as the money for goods which were not in stock so something has happened. I still don't understand why orders were not filled in rotation but just randomly filled so it would be very hit and miss as to whether you got the goods you ordered. It doesn't make sense and I am amazed Fortnum and Mason have such poor stock control. It is quite bewildering but not surprising they have got into such a mess. With the way they have filled orders, even having proper online stock control wouldn't have helped them as they were filling later orders first!

I would really recommend emailing the Chief Exec if you are having problems. After all, their reputation is on the line and this level of customer service has been truly awful. I am not sure I will be shopping with them again although I appreciate the gesture they have now made.

is it just sale items that this is happening with? It really puts me off buying anything online from them! A trip to London sounds less hassle
