Hope everyone is ok today - well as much as those of you who are ill can be. x

A staff member at my children's school has had the telephone diagnosis of swine flu and is now on Tamiflu.

My children and I have been feeling sick and headachy for a few days now, but no high temperature as yet.

The school is following current government guidelines and said the school will remain open until the end of term - tomorrow, and that pupils won't be given antiviral medication.

I heard that the World Health Organisation is considering recommending that schools don't go back in the Autumn, but that the Government said that swine flu is just too widespread now to contain and that the focus now is treatment instead of prevention.
Has anyone else know anything about this and what's happening?
Am going to have another go at the Pepsi comp today. I really neeeed a new phone! ;)

Hope you all have a good day! xx

  • HI all!!

Just heard from MSE Andrea and she said to tell everyone they're not looking for more BGs at the moment.

As for me, I'm going mad again in this room surrounded by boxes and I keep finding more stuff to root through!! So, I'm being sensible and trying to work through it all in chunks so I can stay sane and focussed. Taking more to the charity shop in a bit before treating myself to another lunch of Scouse (hearty stew) with a buttered roll and pickled beetroot before going into town to hunt for work and saucepans, and then see friends. :)

I had heard that about schools ChelseaGirl but I don't think they'll do it. I work at a uni and every year there is "fresher's flu" when they all start the term - stopping schools going back won't prevent the spread of swine flu, just delay it more into the winter (in my opinion of course, I'm no doctor or expert LOL).

Hope the packing is going well Flick. Today is definitely the day for stew - I wonder what they've got on in the canteen today?
