New to broadband - whats the best deal?

Hi

New member and first post, it is great to be here.

OK, I am considering bb with wireless connection minimum 1mb speed. What is the best deal and is it better to go with known providers ie BT or wanadoo?

Reliability is uppermost as I just want to connect and go.

My worst experience was trying to 'fix' something through the phone.

Any advice welcome.
Thanks
M

By all means read Martin's article but ignore the statement:

"Major player 1Mbps at £14.99/month with no download limit. Big player Tiscali* charges £14.99 a month for up to a 1MB speed unlimited broadband package."

as it is incorrect and should have been corrected by now!

NTL are great until something goes wrong. Then all hell can break loose.

The best deal is necessarily the cheapest.

Surely broadband is a case of horses for courses? I've been messed about by Wanadoo, driven to a nervous breakdown by Tiscali, and am now very happy with Tesco. Reason - I download a lot of large files, so I want unlimited access with a good speed. Tesco gives me unlimited 1 meg for £19.97 p/m; never had a hiccup in the 10 months I've been with them; technical support superb. Also get Clubcard points. My first ever post on here so hello to one and all; this place is Heaven! :j
