I would hate to see what the cleanliness is like in the kitchens where you cannot see.

It does make you wonder what the state of the kitchens are behind the scenes where the public don't see. I hadn't used the Tesco Cafe for ages but the kids love macaroni, saw it and... I think I'll buy them a sandwich and have it elsewhere next time. Don't hold out much hope of a reply to the complaint either.

If the cafe has been outsoruced, it will no longer say Tesco on your till reciept from the cafe. It will be something like Eurest or Avience or something. The reciept will generally look the same though, just the logo which is different.

I have noticed too the greasy overcooked food. I thought there was a certain length of time that food could be held before it had to be replaced? This certainly isn't happening at our Tesco. At least at Sainsbury the food is freshly cooked for each customer even if sometimes there is a long wait.

We're anonymous on here, aren't we? So I can own up to having had several very happy experiences 'mystery shopping' Tesco cafes, and telling Tescos exactly what I thought of them!!! :D:D:D:D:D
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • Slightly related but slightly not -

Can someone tell me the name and address to send a message to the top person at tesco. or at least one of the top persons. I have a complaining enquiry.

    Many thanks.

My mum used to work in local tescos cafe about 15 years ago.

i know she used to ensure it was highly scrubbed on public and non public side of the counter...and no matter how much perfume she wore, she always wore "eau de bleach" from the cleaning.

Aah, Inverness - the town that was eaten by Tesco! :)

Be thankful you still have a cafe! My local ASDA decided to get rid of theirs and although it wasn't great it was better than the vending machine situated next to the entrance they replaced it with  Why anyone would want to sit there and have a cuppa I don't know  Can't really comment on Tesco as going there means passing 2 sainsbury's and an asda and its only a small one anyway - don't even know if they have a cafe actually. The best Supermarket cafe I have used is Sainsburys I guess, fresh food, clean & reasonable although I hear Morrisons is very good.
