  • you could get a 1 month free trial of tiscali anytime, just cancel before the end of the first month.

    http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/anytime.html?code=ZZ-NL-11XY

or if you have a dial up account already at home, just setup your account details (username, password and number you dial to connect) on your relatives computer using the internet connection wizard.
    Waddle you do eh?
  • Have a look at :-

    https://www.flexi-surf.net do a 60 hour a month package for £5.

https://www.fast4.net - monthly payments of £6.99 for Unlimited Internet Access

I'm not sure how long you have to sign up for and if the account is tied to your home phone number. I'm not sure how reliable they are as an ISP, I have never used them.

The tiscali idea is a good one, because it is only whilst we are away for 2 weeks that we need the account, we don't have a dial up connection at home as we upgraded the btyahoo to broadband. I have seen some local call isps I think so it would cheaper to dial up, but tiscali may satisfy all requirements thanks!
  • In Tiscali Terms and Conditions for Internet Access Services they say
2.9 We have introduced CLI which is "Calling Line Identification". This ensures that your account can only be used from the nominated phone line as an additional security measure. You must ensure that the call line identification function is operational when you access and during your use of the Service.
This therefore will not be suitable for using at other peoples houses. I cannot find the Terms and Conditions for AOL but most ISPs have a similar policy.

I used to use https://www.activeware.co.uk which allowed me to use it from any phone but this is £10 a month, depending how much you are going to use the Internet at other peoples houses you might better using their ISP, if they don't have one https://www.free-dialup.net you can use without having to sign up, they charge local rate
    Dial-up number: 0845 123 2000
    user: free
    password: internet
    Mail server: mail.free-dialup.net

Full details how to set it up are on the homepage. Beware though Bank Holidays on weekdays are not cheap rate, BT charge normal weekday rates.
