No damage but injury claimed car accident?

I just back from Police Station. I'll try and answer some of the questions which have arisen.......Not sure if I am reading right but both you and the other car was further to your right at another junction were turning left onto a road and had completed her left turn when you pulled into her path forcing her to do an emergency stop.
No, she was turning left (towards me) and I was turning right (towards her).
I was near my destination anyway so I parked up, assuming that as there had been no collision, they were going on there way (as I would have been if I hadn't been at my destination)I'm confused how you know the woman pulled out of her junction the same time as you if you didn't see her before she almost hit you? Either you saw her at the junction or you didn't!From what this woman is alleging like it or not you have been involved in a reportable collision. Should have been reported to the police at the time or in any case within 24 hours.
Have you provided you details (Including insurance due to the injury)?
If not the I am in no doubt you will recieve a letter from the police requesting driver details.
I hope they haven't reported you for failing to stop and report.
The accident took place at 16.25 'ish this afternoon, so no 'failure to report within 24 hours' has taken place. The people from the other vehicle didn't ask me for my insurance details, and I was reluctant to stop and talk due to their threatening attitude (I am a female BTW - Raksha is the mother wolf from The Jungle Book).
As I said, I've done what I needed to do to cover my butt. The lady who took all my details in the police station said she would be recommending that the report be filed and no further action taken as there was no proof that there was an injury (no ambulance called at the time etc.) But I've got to go back with my MOT and paper driving licence
Thanks to everyone for their advice. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Thank you for the update Raksha. I think you have done the right thing. The other driver probably tried the 'attack defense' approach, if you know what I mean! She'd probably had a bad day with a stressful ten year old!Genie

I can relate to that idea, although I suspect it was probably her male friend who was the source of her stress.
I also tried to report the incident to my insurance company (Tesco) who told me if there was no contact, then there was no claim (from reading the Road Traffic Act section 170 I wasn't so sure, but he seemed adamant)Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
They may be trying it on, the car may in fact be a coach with 60 people claiming for whiplash injuries.
I would not worry about it and as your insurance company pointed out there was no contact.0 -

There was no collision!
But there was possibly an injury.......
I don't know, I'm confused and no my head hurts, perhaps I should sue them.........:rotfl:Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -

It is a defense to claim you did not reasonably know an injury had been caused. Stopping isn't difficult if you have a head on, but avoiding idiot drivers and them becoming injured in the process is a different matterStarting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

There was no collision!
There doesn't have to be, the OP has stated there was an alleged injury. Go and read the road traffic act with reference to reportable collisions, then post back what you don't understand about it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. There were trees/bushes obscuring my view, I looked right, there was a vehicle coming towards me, so I stopped to let it pass, looked again, there was nothing, started to pull out and there she was. Having driven the same route again this evening, this road isn't at 90 degrees to the side road, it's at an angle, so the other moving vehicle could have pulled straight out and not be seen until the last minute.
You could make a complaint to the council about the junction then. If cars being able to join the road at full road speed is possible but they aren't able to fully see all potential hazards the council should look at it.
If it is a busy junction they may consider remodelling it, if not they may paint a solid white line and a STOP! sign to replace the Give Way. Any driver that then goes through the junction without stopping then would be commiting an offence.
In fact, check there isn't a STOP! sign there already as its unlikely the scenario has never come up before.0
