Vodafone rage!!!!

I have reached the end of my tether with vodafone now. And would welcome any advice.

My blacberry handset does not work. There is no point in me having a monthly pay contract (which I pay £50 for) if my phone doesn't work. I contacted them to ask for a new handset, and was told that my phone was out of warranty, and as I had 27 (!) months left on my contract, there was nothing that can be done.

I informed them that I did not sign up for a new contract, and that it was my understanding that my contract had expired. This is then what happened:

- I asked for my phone records to be listened to as I was never told that I was signing up to a 27(!) month price plan
- also to make a formal complaint
- I was told that I couldn't make a complaint over the phone, and that I was not permitted to speak to a manager. All complaints had to go through the website
- I then went on the website and spent 30 minutes filling in some dreadful form. When I clicked "send" the "page could not be found" and all my information was lost

I simply can't waste any more time on this, however, I am paying for a contract that is less than useless.

Advice please!
THanks
Abby

    I wasn't aware that there was a 27 month contract? 24 yes, but 27 !

How long have you had the BB?

    Hey
I have had the BB for 19 months now - I took out my contract 19 months ago, but vodafone kindly decided to renew it for me a couple of months ago, and I now have 27 months left!!
I appreciate the handset is quite old now, which is why it isn't working. If they just sent me a new one, I would probably run along!
    Very frustrating!
Thanks for thinking of me tho

sounds like they renewed your 24 month contract onto the end of the time you had left on your current contract without giving you a new phone, did you get your tarrif lowered at all?

Not knowing what the contact says or what you signed to it is hard to comment?

Although I have had problems with Vodafone I have always mangaged to come to some form of solution. Are they saying that if you don't cancel your contract it rolls into another one?

Tell them you are reporting to the regulating body and also ring trading standards to see how you stand? If you have had your BB 19mths it suggests you first contract was 18mth just push and push until you speak to someone who will help. Always get them to put a note on the account after you have agreeded anything. £50 a mth what do you get? you could of course cancel and refuse to pay and let them haggle?

    Hi
They changed my price plan 2 months ago over the phone, but they didn't tell me that I was signing a new contract, and they didn't tell me that it was for 27 months!
I'm on the phone to them now (on hold) but it doesn't look as though they are going to do much.
I have to pay £500 to get out of the contract (that I didn't know I was in) or just put up with a faulty handset.
    Rage!

Nope. I had a laptop added to my account, but this has a separate number and I pay separately for this.
