Just some advice
I'd really like some help in buying a mobile phone (the more I read the more confused I seem to become). All I want it for is phone calls and don't really care for all the gizmos like video etc... It needs to be cheap to buy and run. I will be running a small business form this phone so needs to be reasonably reliable network and easy to use phone.
Many thanks for your help

You need to find a tariff that satisfies your business needs first - calls over and above this will be expensive. Then search for a deal with a phone and network that suits you.
Reliable network - Your choice of network depends on the reception in your area. O2 seems very reliable, but every network has "dead" spots and O2 tariffs with lots of minutes are expensive.
Ease of use - personally I don't think you can beat Nokia for user-friendly interface. The less gizmos you need, the better the price!
Cheap to buy and run - if you are looking for a contract with lots of xnet mins you might consider 3 (if coverage is OK) or T-mobile Flext.
OSPS has the 6230i on Flext 35 (£180 worth calls/texts per month) with 15 months 1/2 price rental."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
