Nuisance calls

Hi Heinz,
In all likelihood this is an example of an urban myth. However, people should be on their guard against scams and not automatically elect to do something, such as selecting an option, where they have made no request for that service.
Many Thanks

Donna, you said it was the case. A newbie poster first said you could incur charges by pressing the wrong key on an incoming call, and I asked for a BT representative to clear this up, but you confirmed that this is the case and Heinz called you on this [in my opinion correctly].BT_company_representative wrote: »Hi Heinz,

Now you come back with this wishy washy not quite climb down. Really Donna, when you posted to support the newbie poster, you were talking out of turn, weren't you? Sorry to be so harsh about it, but we need to know in very definite terms that this REALLY IS an urban myth, or have information that it is true, in sufficiently concrete terms that consumers can campaign to get this feature stopped.
There is no 2 ways about this, you must give an authoritative answer on this matter, one way or another, otherwise your ambiguous answers will have to be taken up with BT at a higher level and with the regulator if necessary, just to establish the truth.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Anonymous Call Reject
Block calls from withheld or anonymous numbers. If a caller withholds their number, they will not be able to get through to you. They will only be able to get through if they reveal their number.
Might be a little pricey at £3.91 a month but is certainly worth it when you get 5 nuisance calls a day.

Anonymous call reject does not reject those calls which flash up on your caller display as Withheld or International, in my experience it's a waste of money as so many still get through.0 -

Since when has it been possible for the cost of a call to be reversed in mid flight?
Theirs always the Tele-Crapper 2000. to deter unwanted telemarketing callers.

These calls do my head in to, what I wanted to know can i phone company recyle your phone number only had my landline connected a few months and I get a lot of these cold calls aking 4 a Mr Munjabi even automated ones. Either Mr Munjabi's number is very similar to mine or my number used to belong to someone elese.
We now have a house rule that we don't anwser the phone, we let the machine pick it up and listen to who it is 1st, all my family know we do this so they usually say hello to machine 1st and if we know who it is we pick up, and if it is someone important they usually leave a msg.
Best thing we did was get the answe phone but Mr Munjabi so random, oh well let the machine do the work.
SS!:money:I secretly think martin is super sexy!! LOL!!:money:0 -
Landline numbers are normally recycled after a reasonable time, but on some exchanges they are reused quicker where their are a shortage of numbers.0

You could try and get VM to change it foc for service reasons, but the only problem is the next number could be worse for calls for previous users.0
