the best deal is switching to an llu provider if your exchange is unbundled

Thanks for that link, I'd never seen it before. What does "unbundled" mean?
It's saying I can get:
AOL
O2/Be
C&W/Bulldog
Orange
Sky/Easynet
TalkTalk (CPW)
Tiscali
I've been with BT for over 9 years now. Used to be on Option 3 but lowered it to Option 1 last year because it was getting too expensive.
My current 12 month contract runs out next week, and they're asking me to renew but the prices are insane! Anyone know the best deal I could currently negotiate with them for staying on Option 1? I'm not after any extras (BTvision, mobile or BTanywhere, etc), although a new hub might be nice (still got one of the original ones). Many thanks...

LLU is when other companies install their own equipment in BT exchanges so they can save on costs
Looking at your options
If you have sky tv then you could get sky bb
Otherwise you can get O2 for £12.23 (£7.34 if you have an O2 mobile or know someone who has and lets you use their number to get discount)

what sort of deal is bt offering0

Rexel...
Well, best I could get was £9.29 per month (staying on Option 1 for 12 months) with a new black hub thrown in (I still have the very first white one). So I've decided to stick with BT for another year, despite being tempted to switch to o2, etc... (who are slightly cheaper & offer increased usage allowance, but not enough of a deal breaker for me).
Give it a go, see what happens. I was pleasantly surprised at the deal offered, as I'd recently heard quite a few stories of BT not offering much in the way of retention deals, but maybe it's all in the way you approach these things, and the person you happen to speak with on the other end of the line. Just be polite, be honest, be fair, be firm, be fruity, be fresh, be yourself, be true... and the world's your lobster!
Hope this helps
