account ransacked by vodafone 'passport' :(
Went on holiday for 3 weeks and had passport activated and got a £142 bill when I returned which I was a bit miffed about but I accepted it.
But what really annoyed me was the fact that Vodafone decided to scrap roaming THE DAY I GOT BACK!!!
Futhermore I have just recieved another bill for £297!!!
My contract is £29pm and I get unlimited txt + browsing and 600 mins.
I cant afford to pay it but its already been debited out of my bank account and has left me with £20 for the next 3 week and I have mouths to feed - is there anyway I can get a recalculation?
There seems to be an error with the roaming charges

Were you browsing the net abroad? Does passport include internet use, I thought it was only calls and texts.

As I understood it, with passport you pay a 75p connection charge per call (made or received), than the minutes you are on are deducted from your inclusive minutes.
What is your understanding of what you have been wrongly charged for?
Have yo spoken to Vodafone for clarification?0 -
I will miss out on the 'no roaming charge' offer but I was also warned (I know the shop staff) not to use the internet/email when abroard as it could easily be £15 or more per day. 21 * £15 = £315.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

This is because we've abolished our normal 75p roaming charge – which is what you usually pay to connect a call to the UK with Vodafone Passport.

makes no difference, this was before the new offer was launched.
As I read it, op hasn`t explained what the charges were for, or what if anything Voda have said about them.0 -
Hi jinxjinx
Getting an unexpectedly high bill is never pleasant.
I'd just like to clear up some confusion about a couple of things in this thread.- Our Summer Roaming Promotion started on the 1st of June and runs to the 31st of August
- Data use is not included in this promotion
- If you travelled to a country that supports Vodafone Passport before the Summer Roaming Promotion started then you will be charged 75p when a call connects (either making or receiving). If you are receiving a call then aftger the connection fee you can talk free for up to 60mins. If you are making a call then after the connection fee you use your minutes from home. Texts are charged at 25p each on contract plus your standard text rate from the UK.
- You will only receive Vodafone Passport rates if you are in a Passport supported country. You can see the list of countries here (click "Passport Countries" on the right hand side).
- If you weren't in a Vodafone Passport country you can see the charges for calls here.
As we'll need to see your account could you send us an email using the Contact Us form on the Vodafone website? When sending the email you'll need to state 'FAO Web Relations' in the subject bar and within the body of the email could you include the URL for this thread, your details and the code FIT135?
I'd love to get this resolved for you.
