    Enjoy it all, Pania!

Hypno, doesn't it cost megabucks more per month to go onto a proper repayment mortgage, as opposed to making overpayments when you can? And what about the whole 24.9% thing of b!!!!card? Are you going to let that run its course?

:o just realised what a completely stupid question that is, but I'll leave it in cos I'm still puzzled... it doesn't take much :D

The danger is, KC that I have had 6 years without paying anything off the capital, and as the mortgage is fairly big (£175k), every year that goes by without any reasonable amount being paid off, means that we will have to catch up big time later on.

The barclayloan, whilst being on a crap rate, is at least of finite life, and I won't suddenly wake up one morning thinking shiite how on earth am I going to catch up!

So.........to ensure my mortgage runs no longer than the initial term we took it out over, I need to pay another £450 a month (ish, yet to work exact figures) from now on. Any overpayment on top of that will simply bring the term down bit by bit. And because the Egg payment was almost £200 a month, and my payrise is almost £300 a month, I can start making the repayments to the mortgage without it actually seeming as though I am having to find any "extra" money, if that makes sense.

I am still aiming to throw any additional MSE made money at the barclayloan to get rid of that, so it will still be gone sooner than the contractual term of the loan, don't worry!!

I suppose I am just very aware that £175k of debt has got to be repaid sometime, and the longer we leave it, the harder it will become!
